A water line break at the Sahara that happened during construction work and resulted in disrupted water services has now been fixed. Guests and employees at the Sahara reported that they had been without water since around midday on Wednesday. According to a statement from the resort-casino, survey work being conducted around the property led to a breached water line.
The Sahara released a statement around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, announcing that the water line had been repaired and that “service to all hotel rooms, public restrooms, bars, and entertainment venues has been fully restored.” The resort-casino expressed gratitude to their guests for their patience and to their team members for their hard work and dedication to providing Sahara’s trademark hospitality during the ordeal.
Furthermore, the Sahara mentioned that some restaurants have resumed normal operations. Bazaar Meat, Balla Italian Soul, The Noodle Den, and Chickie’s & Pete’s are set to reopen on Friday. Guests who were in the lobby on Thursday reported that the resort distributed water bottles for personal hygiene along with muffins and fruit on the lobby floors. Cafe services near the lobby and certain bathrooms near the casino floor were closed in the middle of the day.
Clark County officials stated that a section of southbound Paradise Road near Sahara Avenue, located behind the resort, was closed from Karen Avenue to facilitate the cleanup of water and silt resulting from the water leak.
