If you are driving around Las Vegas, you may have noticed that free or cheap parking is more readily available on the Strip than near the downtown casinos. Strip casinos have historically used free parking as a way to attract visitors to their property, although the number of properties offering completely free parking is decreasing.
In contrast, downtown Las Vegas has limited street parking and ticketed garages as the primary parking options. However, budget-conscious drivers may still be able to find a free spot or a good deal if they know where to look near Fremont Street.
When it comes to street parking, most spots are pay-by-plate and managed by the city of Las Vegas. But if you are willing to walk a bit, there is free street parking available on and around Fremont Street starting at 9th Street near Atomic Liquors and heading east towards Ferguson’s Market. Blocks perpendicular to Fremont Street may also have more availability for street parking.
For those who prefer not to hunt for parking, there is the option of validated parking at several hotel-casinos. By dining at the beginning or end of your visit to Fremont Street, you may be able to get your parking validated with a meal receipt or a player’s club membership at certain status levels. Hotels such as Four Queens, Binion’s, Main Street Station, The California, and the Plaza all offer validated parking for patrons.
